Indian Tops Every Day!

Who said Indian fashion was all about sarees and lehengas? Lakme Fashion Week and its brilliant designers definitely proved us that Indian contemporary fashion is outstanding as Indian tops were particularly fascinating.
Whether it is a silk, cotton or linen top, you can chose your Indian tops according to the occasion. A precious fabric such as silk will be perfect for a night out while a cotton top is the right choice for a casual day outfit.
We really loved Michele Bohbot's and Manish Malhotra's creations. We think they would look perfect with either a nice black skirt or classy black pants. What do you think? Are Indian tops on your wish list this fall?

Nayanika Chatterjee, already into her 40s, opened almost every show at the India Bridal Week, making everybody stunned at the amazing bridal lehengas she wore for each occasion.

Remembering Good Moments from Narendra Kumar at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012.

Remember the good moments from Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 where our designer Narendra Kumar chose the famous  song " Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon Five and Christina Aguilera .

For this special occasion Narendra used a distintive hair style for all the men, including in his outfits a variety of material such as cotton , velvet and wool taking advantage of bright colours.

The women´s style was inspired in the 70s, using fresh garments such as printed panelled silk tunic or slim jackets to the summer nights as well as  ivory embroidered gown.

Indian Designers Ashdeen Lilaowala's Collection at Lakmé Fashion Week 2013

The Indian Designer Ashdeen Lilaowala at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 began with her latest collection. She is graduate of the National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, who started his label “Ashdeen” specialising in ancient Oriental and Persian hand embroidery and is the author of the book “Threads of Continuity” on the complex Zoroastrian art of Kusti weaving.

It is a contemporary collection, with beautiful embroidery Gara, which are very typical and brand a touch of tradition.
The color combination chosen by Ashdeen, namely black, red and white, I think is great because they blend perfectly with the products they use, such as organza, georgette or satin.

Of all the collections I've seen in this Fashion Week at the moment this is the one I like the most. But I have no doubt that the biggest celebrities of Bollywood will eventually wear his creations. Indian fashion has not stopped to amaze us!

And you, what do you think?

The actress, famous for her performance in films like "London, Paris, New York " and "Murder 3", in an interview declared:

"I am so happy that I walked for Payal wearing her clothes. Her clothes took me back to my childhood days [...] I have been lucky to have been brought up where heritage is so important... this was like a walk down memory lane".

We adore Payal Singhal's style, and her latest collection - inspired by Islamic architecture - made us fall in love even more.
