Exclusive Preview: Interview to Palermofashionblog

Dear all!
Few days ago I was in palermo and I got in touch with the most important bloggers of the area!

I had an exclusive interview with them for Strand of Silk (which will be available soon on the website!)

The Palermo Fashion Blog team includes Mariagiovanna and Loredana, each of whom gave us their perspective. Extracts from our interview are below and translated to English by our brilliant in-house team!




Mariagiovanna Martorana Genuardi: First of all, thank you Strand of Silk for engaging with us on the theme of Fashion and of the fascination that it creates. 

Loredana Mannina: Thank you, it’s a pleasure for us to share our mission with you and your followers.


 - When did you start developing the “palermofashionblog” project?

Mariagiovanna Martorana Genuardi: Palermofashionblog was born on the 9th of January 2013 to promote the made in Palermo and the made in Italy.

- Talking about Traditional Indian Fashion, what are the designer(s) that you like the most? What are the characteristics of his/her style that you – as a non-Indian – appreciate the most?











Mariagiovanna Martorana Genuardi: Karieshma Sarnaa's Collection of embroidered Salwars.
Loredana Mannina: I agree with Mariagiovanna! I fell in love with the fabrics that she uses!

- What is the Indian fashion designer that you like the most? What kind of clothes designed by him/her would you use for your daily outfits? Which for special events?
Mariagiovanna Martorana Genuardi: I would use Karieshma's coloured tunics for my summer styles! For a special evening.. Narendra Kumar's Layered Gold Yellow Dress
Loredana Mannina: Even I like Narendra Kumar's styles! For a special night I would wear his Sky Blue Satin Saree!




- What are the most charming characteristics of India and the Indian culture according to you?
Mariagiovanna Martorana Genuardi: I love the colours of India, the handcrafted artistic embroideries and precious fabrics. 
Loredana Mannina: The fact that it's a country with a multicultural and multilingual, incredibly rich of natural sources and beautiful landscapes. I particularly appreciate the production of indian handcrafted fabrics.
