IBFW 2013: Bridal Lehengas Highlights from Day 1 to Day 3

The most important fashion extravaganza in Indian bridal couture has started a few days ago in Mumbai. The first day saw an opening show by fashion designers Jyotsna Tiwari and Tarun Tahiliani. It was a line inspired from the seven colours of navratan jewellery for the first, while a mix of modern and traditional Indian bridalwear silhouettes for the second, especially in the bridal lehengas category.

On the Day 2 the fashion show was led by Pallavi Jaikishan and by Gaurav Gupta’s Lightfall line, which featured saree gowns and exquisite bridal lehengas sets.

The following day Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacok stroke everybody’s attention with their collection made precious by heavy embroidered garments in luxe lace, georgette, chiffon and net, all adorning their collection of bridal lehengas and bridal sarees.

More Lines of Indian Earrings from Indian Designers!

Anita Dongre's first jewellery line, "Pinkcity", inspired by Mughal grandeur, was launched this month in association with Jet Gems.

More and more fashion designers are now creating jewellery lines to complement their clothing, and jewellery brands, on their side, are warming up to the benefits brought by these collaborations. The jewellery house, in fact, translates the designs into Indian earrings using their artisans, while designers benefit from the jewellery brand's manufacturing set-up.
Couturier Tarun Tahiliani, as well, has recently showcased his first range of bridal jewellery at IBFW and has reported that his collaboration with Azva gave him access to craftsmanship from Junagadh, Mumbai and Kolkata for his wonderful Indian earrings.

Are all you happy of this new trend? Of course, we are!

Lisa Haydon in Wedding Lehenga as Tarun Tahiliani's showstopper

The last day of the IBFW 2013 was concluded in style by AZVA and fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani, accompanied by actress Lisa Haydon as a showstopper. “My good friend Lisa Haydon is with me and she walked the ramp as a contemporary bride.” Tarun said.

His collection, divided in three sections, included wedding lehengas in red and orange, anarkali gowns with sheer jackets and golden sequined sarees. In his words, the designer desired to provide lightness to bridal wears, so that a woman feels light and beautiful in her wedding lehenga.
